I5700 extra unlock information

The I5700 is an OMAP2 phone, and OMAP2 phone normally need a special (FTDI) cable and drivers. However this is an exception and if your phone is not branded you can unlock it using original USB cable that comes with the phone.

1: Type *#7284# then choose Phone > USB
Choose USB (modem). If this menu is not available you can NOT unlock with original USB cable

2: Type: *#9090# then choose - Uart_null_usb_diag
This is the first option in the menu and does NOT have a number. You can however still select it but you have to take out any cable attached to the phone (otherwise you can't select). If this option is NOT present you can NOT unlock using original USB cable. Note that 'UART_Diag USB_Null' and 'UART_NULL_USB_DIAG' are NOT the same. You need the latter.

Blue screen trouble
Some computer seem to crash with the swallowtail drivers. In our experience we had this with a ASUS laptop but on an Acer laptop it works fine. This has to do with a driver conflict which we can not do anything about as we don't make the drivers just use them. They are created by the chip manufacturer companies.

If you have this problem please switch computers. To uninstall the drivers go to Device Manager then 'Modems' identify the Samsung (swallowtail) modem' device and right mouse click on the device and choose 'uninstall'.
